Todd on 'Town Teams' set.

TODD NORRIS - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Todd Norris is a film lover and a filmmaker. He started his career in television, as an editor at KCTV5 and a promotions director/editor at KSHB-TV. He’s won Emmy awards for his work in TV, and he’s taught cinematography, directing, and screenwriting at UMKC, University of Central Missouri and Art Institutes International of Kansas City.

Todd started making movies on Super-8 film with his friends in sixth grade. A self-described video nerd with a ridiculous knack for film trivia, he and his buddies would shoot anything and everything with whatever camera they could get their hands on. He graduated from UMKC’s Communications Studies Department and, like most students with a passion for the cinema, connected with other filmmakers.

While working at Fine Arts Theatre and Video, curating the best video rental collection in the city, he continued making films after hours. In the past 25 years, he’s shot and directed dozens of short films and music videos and always has a personal project in the works. His filmmaking over the years has been both prolific and respected – winning awards at films festivals around the U.S. and even landing one of his films at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.

Todd currently is Vice President of Film Society KC and is the producer and host of their upcoming podcast which will highlight area filmmakers and film lovers. He’s generous with his experience and is always excited about teaching young filmmakers what he’s learned about storytelling.

Todd is our Director of Photography. He brings his unique skills in cinematic lighting to every shoot for DHTV Digital’s clients. He’s also an excellent director, a creative editor and motion graphics artist.
